Chapter 1 - Daniel's Faithfulness and Integrity: In this chapter, Daniel and his friends demonstrate unwavering faith and integrity by refusing to eat the king's food against their beliefs. Chapter 2 - Daniel's Interpretation of Nebuchadnezzar's Dream: Daniel interprets King Nebuchadnezzar's dream, showcasing the importance of relying on God for wisdom and guidance. Chapter 3 - The Fiery Furnace: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego refuse to worship the golden statue, even under the threat of death, and are miraculously saved from the fiery furnace. Chapter 4 - Nebuchadnezzar's Humility: King Nebuchadnezzar's pride leads to his downfall, but through humility and acknowledging God's sovereignty, he is eventually restored. Chapter 5 - The Writing on the Wall: Belshazzar's arrogance and disregard for the sacred result in the mysterious writing on the wall, signaling his downfall. Chapter 6 - Daniel in the Lion's Den: Daniel's unwavering faith in God leads him to defy the king's decree and continue praying to God, resulting in his miraculous survival in the lion's den. These chapters from the book of Daniel emphasize the importance of faith, integrity, humility, and the consequences of pride. They inspire us to stay true to our beliefs and values, seek divine wisdom, and trust in God's guidance, even in challenging situations.

Meet The Presenters

Dr Matt Jacoby

Matt is the teaching pastor at his church in Victoria, Australia, lecturer at the Melbourne School of Theology, an author, a songwriter and, a musician leading the Psalms project band Sons of Korah.

Matt has a doctorate in philosophy and theology from the University of Melbourne, and is the author of the daily Bible reading guide Thrive launched in 2005. Matt's most recent work as an author is his book Deeper Places (Baker Books USA 2013) with an expanded edition released in 2019. In Deeper Places, Matt shares a rich portrait of authentic spirituality. A gifted teacher and Bible scholar, Matthew is invited to speak at conferences and churches where he brings a fresh but foundational perspective to Scripture.

DJ Paine

DJ is a podcaster, photographer and has had a number of years experience as a Christian Radio Breakfast announcer. He would consider himself a professional Christian music geek & amateur Bible nerd. DJ was raised on the Gold Coast and studied at Word Of Life Bible College in Sydney.
